This is for teachers, teaching assistants, student champions and all other MeTL users.
How To Use This Guide
Content that applies only to particular institutions is marked with a sticker, for example: Saint Leo University (SLU).
- MeTL
controls
ormenu options
are distinctly formatted to show exactly what to look for in MeTL. - In a pedagogical (teaching) context: “Conversation owner” may be referred to as teacher, and “Other user” as student.
- SLU users may use the term Whiteboard to refer to the MeTL application.
- The MeTL application can be themed for different institutions. Most screenshots will use the “neutral” theme (dark background) but some use the Saint Leo University theme (green background), particularly where it is necessary to demonstrate integration with an external gradebook or Learning Management System (LMS).
Throughout the guide there appear breakout boxes of various types:
Tips to support teaching activities.
Warnings about potential bad practices.
Links to real-world teaching examples submitted by MeTL users in the relevant section of Teaching Examples.
Links to documented pedagogical support for MeTL activities in the relevant section of Pedagogy.
